In July 2025, 18 families from three Marañón River communities joined BioRest, the voluntary biocultural restoration program of Delfín Amazon Cruises. Together, they are restoring degraded land with native, useful plants through agroforestry systems and ethnobotanical orchards that bring food and healing species back home. Community Forest Schools strengthen conservation skills, while elders’ Traditional Ecological Knowledge is recorded to guide future generations. In the buffer zone of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, families and DAC are planting a living corridor, where forest, culture, and livelihoods grow stronger, rooted in pride and shared stewardship.
