Kuyana Amazon Lodge

Kuyana Amazon Lodge is a boutique lodge located in Ecuador’s Upper Amazon, just a few hours by road from Quito, offering one of the country’s most accessible rainforest experiences without domestic flights or long river transfers.

With only 13 rooms and capacity for 24 guests, Kuyana offers a highly personalised stay combining nature, comfort and meaningful connection with the surrounding environment. Experiences include guided rainforest walks, waterfalls, rafting, wildlife observation, cultural encounters and regenerative activities that allow guests to actively contribute to conservation.

As a family-founded project, Kuyana integrates hospitality with local sourcing, ecosystem restoration and community engagement, creating an authentic Upper Amazon experience suited for FITs, families and small groups.

Kuyana is a family-founded boutique lodge where hospitality is closely linked to regenerative action. Beyond accommodation and guided experiences, the project actively protects 40 hectares of rainforest and has planted more than 10,000 trees as part of its long-term ecosystem restoration efforts. Guests are invited to participate in meaningful activities such as tree planting, learning about native stingless bees, visiting our mushroom growing system, and understanding how tourism directly contributes to conservation.

Our approach to sustainability is built around local sourcing, local employment and circular systems that support both the environment and nearby communities. Much of our team comes from surrounding villages, and many of the products used in the lodge are sourced locally whenever possible. Water throughout the lodge comes from a natural mountain spring, with an additional filtration system for drinking water.
